Peony: Love and Affection (2010)

“Peony: Love and Affection” is an excellent debut painting by Addi McClure. This painting reminds me a little of Alphonse Mucha’s panel paintings of women and flowers. Addi, however, adds mystery by having this Asian beauty’s eyes closed in private reverie. Its simple elegance and realistic flowers make it a timeless piece. This original painting is 24 inches by 36 inches and looks lovely without a frame for a contemporary look. The edges are left raw with some pink and flesh toned brush strokes visible.

Addi is also an accomplished sumi-e artist.
